Gladys Luella Qualseth

Gladys Qualseth, 96, of Dell Rapids passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2007 at Terrace Manor Nursing Home. Funeral services will begin at 2:30 PM Saturday, February 3, 2007 at First Lutheran Church in Colton. Burial will be at Minnehaha Cemetery, rural Colton. Visitation with the family present will begin one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.

Gladys Luella Qualseth was born April 18, 1910 near Colton, South Dakota to parents George and Louise (Haugen) Qualseth. She was raised and educated in the Colton area, graduating from Colton High School in 1928. She continued her education at Nettleton College. Gladys moved to Brookings, South Dakota in 1937 where she worked at South Dakota State College. In 1939 she was employed by Sexaurer Company in Brookings, retiring in 1973. She moved to Sioux Falls in 1974, where she was a member of St. John American Lutheran Church.

Grateful for having shared her life are her nieces, Leona (Dolly) Kittelson and Arla (Russell) Sundal, Colton; Arlene (Don) Hinz, Baltic; Susan (Keith) Merry, Dell Rapids; nephews, George (Dorothy) Qualseth, Northfield, MN; Nolan Qualseth, Colton; Curtis (Pat) Qualseth and David (Deb) Qualseth, Baltic; and Ronald (Lois) Qualseth, Sioux Falls.

Gladys was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Arnold Qualseth; sister, Viola Ross; sister-in-law, Annette Qualseth; and niece, Ruth Ann Qualseth.

A Prayer For Our Beloved Aunt

I gave Her back to you, O Lord, Who first gave Her to Us, And as You did not lose Her in the giving, so We do not lose her in the return.

And while You prepare a place for Us, as You promised, prepare Us also for that happy place. Where You are, We wish to also be, with those We have lost in life. Amen
