Doris G. Riswold, 83 of Dell Rapids died Wednesday, October 25, 2006 at Terrace Manor Nursing Home in Dell Rapids. Funeral services will begin at 2:30 PM Saturday, October 28, 2006 at East Nidaros Lutheran Church, rural Baltic. Burial will be in the East Nidaros Cemetery. Visitation will begin a 2:00 PM Friday with family present from 7-8:00 PM at the Minnehaha Funeral Home, Dell Rapids.

Doris was born November 7, 1922 at Colton to parents Walter and Ingeborg (Jostad) Waswick. She grew up in the Colton area and attended country school and Colton High School.

Doris married Spencer Riswold January 9, 1941 at Baltic. After their marriage they farmed near Baltic and moved to Dell Rapids in 1968. She worked as a custodian helper at the Dell Rapids Public School until retiring in 1984. Spencer died May 9, 2001.

Doris was baptized and confirmed at First Lutheran Church in Colton and was an active member of the East Nidaros Lutheran Church, rural Baltic.

Grateful for having shared her life are her children, Don Riswold and his wife Carol, Sioux Falls; Sharyn Riswold, Sioux Falls; Mary and her husband Larry Prudic, Sahuarita, Arizona; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; brother, Lyle Waswick and his wife Elaine, Des Lacs, North Dakota; sister, Maxine Kittelson and her husband Leon, Mesa, Arizona;two sister-in-laws, Helen Riswold, Dell Rapids and Marlys Anderson, Dell Rapids; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by two sons, an infant and Ronald; an infant daughter, a great-granddaughter, BreAnna Riswold, two brothers, Glenn and Donald and two sisters, Donna Hunt and Loretta Boomer.

Memorials may be directed to East Nidaros Lutheran Church Building Fund.
