Geraldine D. Anderson

Geraldine “Gerry” Anderson, age 85, of Garretson died on Friday, March 14, 2008 at Avera-McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, March 20, 2008 at the Minnehaha Funeral Home, Garretson. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the Blinded Veterans Association.

Geraldine “Gerry” D. Polzin was born November 23, 1922 to Fred and Martha Polzin in Larchwood, Iowa. She grew up in Larchwood and attended grade school and graduated from Larchwood Public High School in 1940. She married Kenneth Anderson on December 9, 1943. She retired from the Palisade Manor Nursing Home Activity Department in April of 1996. She enjoyed dancing, choir and was a talented whistler and whistled with the Sioux Falls Municipal Band entertaining at various functions. She also was an accordionist, a former student of Myron Floren and gave lessons in her home to area children. She was a member of the United Church of Christ and the American Legion Auxiliary.


Grateful for having shared her life are her son, Rodney Lee (Bonnie) Anderson, Antioch, Tennessee; two daughters, Muriel Irene Titus, Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and Bonnie Rae (Kip) Farmer, Millville, Utah; grandchildren: Joshua (Leah) Titus, Rockvale, TN; Lee Anderson, Antioch, TN; Jason Anderson, Antioch, TN; Matthew (Charity) Farmer, Syracuse, UT; Benjamin (Anna) Farmer, Logan, UT; Luke Farmer, Millville, UT; Timothy Farmer, New Zealand, Auckland (LDS) Mission; and Karen (Terry) Cook, Oro Valley, AZ; and great-grandchildren, Jacob, Joel & Elizabeth Titus, Rockvale, TN; Joel Farmer, Syracuse, UT; Daphne Farmer, Logan, UT; and Robyn Cook, Oro Valley, AZ. She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters and eight brothers.
