Ordell John Martin Hanson

Ordell John Martin Hanson, 69, of Rock Rapids, Iowa and formerly of the Baltic area died Tuesday, July 29, 2008 at his home.

Funeral services will begin at 10:30 AM Monday August 4, 2008 at Benton Lutheran Church, rural Crooks. Burial will be in the Benton Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be from 2-4:00 PM on Sunday at the Minnehaha Funeral Home, Baltic.

Ordell was born February 24, 1939 in Dell Rapids to parents Orwell and Inez (Holmberg) Hanson. He grew up on a farm west of Baltic and attended Lyons Grade School. After his education he farmed with his parents and later worked as a carpenter. Ordell married Wilma McMaster in 1960 and Donna Zuraff February 22, 2000 in Inwood, Iowa. Ordell and Donna lived in Rock Rapids.

Ordell was baptized and confirmed at Benton Lutheran Church.

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Donna, Rock Rapids, Iowa; three sons, Brian Hanson, Omaha, Nebraska; John Hanson and Nathan Hanson, both of Rock Rapids, Iowa; three daughters, Koreena Howell and Kimberly Hanson, both of Omaha, Nebraska; Ashley Hanson; Rock Rapids, Iowa; six grandchildren; three brothers, Orrell Hanson and his wife Julie, Orlen Hanson and Darrell Hanson and his wife Candi, all of Sioux Falls; two sisters and their husbands, Janice and Lyn Ellens, Hartford; and Doreen and LeRoy Butenschoen, Sioux Falls; former wife, Wilma DeBuck, Omaha, Nebraska and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Marlen and his parents.
