Corrine Rae Hefner

Corrine Rae Hefner, 76, of Chester died Friday, November 16, 2007 at Avera McKennan Hospice.

Funeral services will begin at 10:30 am Tuesday, November 20, 2007 at Colman Lutheran Church, Colman. Burial will be in the Colman Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 2:00 pm Monday, with the family present from 5-7:00pm at the Minnehaha Funeral Home, Dell Rapids.

Corrine Rae was born February 24, 1931 to parents Leonard and Anna (Kringen) Park. She grew up on a farm near Colman and attended country school before graduating from Colman High School.

Corrine married Dalton Hefner August 20, 1954 at Colman Lutheran Church. They lived in Colman for a short time and moved to Chester in 1964. In Chester she worked at their Dairy Queen and as a librarian at the Chester School District.

Corrine was a member of the Colman Lutheran Church, church circle, and the Chester American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed golfing, bowling, cards, crossword puzzles, but most of all raising her family. Her hobbies included sewing, knitting, crocheting, and gardening. She found great pleasure in crocheting each one of her grandchildren a beautiful afghan.

Grateful for having shared her life are a son Wayne Hefner and his wife Mary and their son Casey, Wentworth; daughters, Roxann Wold, Chester and her children, Traci and her husband Brett Roemen and their children Madison and Connor; Lance Wold and his wife Sharee and their son, Layke; Jackie Van Liere, Colman and her children, Jaime and her husband Jonathan Reiff and their son Dalton; Daniel Van Liere and his wife Natosha; Dianna Baartman and her husband Mike, Chester and their children, Mitchell and Brianna and many other relatives and friends.

Corrine was preceded in death by her husband, Dalton on February 13, 2004;her parents; a brother, Richard Park; and son-in-law, Larry Wold.
