Chester Warren Tolles, 64, of Hartford formerly of Sioux City, Iowa died Saturday, April 11, 2009 at his home.
Memorial services will be 11:00 am Thursday, April 16, 2009 at Central Valley Community Church, Hartford.
A second Memorial Service will be 11:00 am Friday, April 17, 2009 at Morningside Presbyterian Church, Sioux City, Iowa.
Chester was born December 21, 1944 in Long Beach California to parents Howard Warren and Rachel (Perley) Tolles. As a child he moved with his parents to Sioux City, Iowa, where he grew up and graduated from Sioux City East High School. After his education he entered the United States Navy. He married Marcia Burgett on September 3, 1965; they then embarked on a 26 year Naval Career. He retired in 1989 to Sioux Falls and moved to Hartford ten years ago.
Chester enjoyed fishing, photography, gardening, but his passion was his grandchildren.
Grateful for having shared his life are his wife Marcia, Hartford; his children, Timothy, Tracy (Helga) and Laurie Chamberlin, all of Ledyard, Ct. five grandchildren, Terry, Ashley, and Joey Chamberlin, Tricia and Erin Tolles, his mother, Rachel, Sioux City, IA; two sisters, Elaine (Ed) Divis, Sioux City, IA; Marilyn (Scott)Larsen, Minneapolis.
He was preceded in death by his father Howard Warren Tolles and a sister, Jeanne.
