Myrna A. Vosburg, 80, of Colton died Wednesday, December 9, 2009 at Good Samaritan Center in Sioux Falls. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, December 12, 2009 at the United Methodist Church in Colton. Burial will be in the Colton Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 4:00 PM Friday with a Prayer and Eastern Star service at 6:00 PM at the Minnehaha Funeral Home, Colton.
Myrna Annabelle Vosburg was born on February 17th, 1929 on the family farm near Worthing, SD to Lloyd and Maude (Grayson) Kuhns. She attended Ray Country School near Worthing and graduated from Canton High School in 1947. She then attended Nettleton Business College in Sioux Falls. After working in the secretarial field for several years she married Dallas Clark Vosburg on September 11th, 1954 at the Canton United Methodist Church. They then made their home and farmed near Granite Iowa until 1967 when they moved to Colton South Dakota. After raising her family she returned to work. She then worked at the Minnehaha County Welfare Office until the time of her retirement.
She was an active member of the United Methodist Church of Colton, the Colton United Methodist Women, where she served several times as president, Disciple Bible Studies and Circles. She also enjoyed attending Senior Citizens and Quilting groups in her later years.
She was a very active member of the Order of the Eastern Star, serving several times as Worthy Matron. On November 15th of this year she was honored in a ceremony by the Minnehaha Chapter of Colton with a pin recognizing her 60 years of membership.
Grateful for having shared her life are her husband of 55 years, Dallas, children David and Loren of Colton, Bob (Carolyn) and Bradley of Renner, four grandchildren Cody, Dustin, Shelby and Trace, and one brother, Jack (Dorothy) Kuhns of Canton.
