Kenneth Howard Gunderson

Kenneth H. Gunderson, 77 of Baltic died Friday, May 26, 2006 at the Dells Area Health Center. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM Tuesday, May 30, 2006 at Baltic Lutheran Church, Baltic. Visitation will begin at 2:00 PM Monday with the family present from 6-8:00 PM at the Minnehaha Funeral Home, Baltic. As per Kenny’s request his body will be donated to the USD School of Medicine following the services.


Kenny was born June 3, 1928 at Rosholt, South Dakota to parents Knut and Inga (Solem) Gunderson. He moved with his parents to the Baltic area at the age of two. He attended Baltic Grade School and graduated from Baltic High School in 1946.


Kenny married Shirley Moe June 19, 1947 at West Nidaros Lutheran Church Crooks, South Dakota. After their marriage they lived and farmed near Baltic his entire life. Kenny also was involved in various invention and building homes in Baltic over the years. Kenny was also active in sporting events and umpired many baseball and softball games over the years.


Kenny was a member of the Baltic Lutheran Church.


Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Shirley, Baltic; his children and their spouses, Wayne & Paula Gunderson, Baltic; Susan & Don Aldrich, Renner; Laurie & Jim Grotjohn, Anthems, Arizona; five grandchildren, Kelly Vietor, Michelle and her husband Justin Whitehead, Jamie Grotjohn, Kristin Gunderson, Bruce Gunderson and many other relatives and friends.


He was preceded in death by three sisters, Constance, Irene, Edna and three brothers, Godtfred, Arnold & Orill.
