Richard Christenson

Richard “Jim” Christenson, 51, of Renner died Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at the Dougherty House Hospice.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, May 9, 2009 at Renner Lutheran Church. Burial will be in the Berg Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be 5-7:00 PM Friday at the Minnehaha Funeral Home, Baltic.

Richard “Jim” Christenson was born March 4, 1958 in Sioux Falls to parents, Richard and Delores (Eggers) Christenson. He grew up in Renner and attended Renberg Grade School, Axtell Middle School and graduated from Washington High School in 1976. After his education he moved to Denver, Colorado, where he worked for a chip distributing company in the Aurora, Colorado area. While living in Colorado he meet Deborah Underhill and they were married in Renner. He returned to the Renner area in 1984 and worked at various jobs in the Sioux Falls area.

Jim was a avid sport fan, enjoying golf and the Denver Broncos.

Survivors include his sons, Jeff and Rich, both of Sioux Falls; a granddaughter, Kira, Sioux Falls; his parents Dick & Dee Christenson, Renner; his sister, Lorie (Mike) Grau, Sioux Falls; a niece Jena Rolfing and a nephew Dustin Grau and many other relatives and friends.
