Alfred Henry Kirton

Alfred Kirton, 82, died on January 16, 2010, at Palisade Manor Garretson, SD.
Alfred Kirton was born on January 1, 1928 at Wessington Springs, SD to Clarence and Clara (Van Heck). He attended school at Long Lake Country School in Jerald County.

Alfred married Phyllis Wolfgram at Wessington November 1, 1947 to this union 6 children were born, Alfred Married Betty (Van Heck) on November 21, 1997 in Sterling Heights, MI, Betty passed away in March 2005, later that year he moved to Garretson, SD to be closer to his family.

Alfred is preceded in death by his father, Clarence Kirton; mother, Clara Pointer; brothers: Eugene and Robert; wife, Phyllis Kirton and wife, Betty Kirton

He is survived by his two sisters Betty Delong, Huron and Deanna Butler, Lead; a brother, Clarence Kirton Jr., Casper WY; six children: Richard and Rozella, Amarillo TX, Mike and Nancy, Minot ND, Steve and Rhonda, Garretson SD, Judy and Ed Lewis, Wessington Springs, Tracy and Brenda, Wagner, SD and Scott and Stacee Wagner, SD; 16 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Alfred worked at farming from 1936 – 1963 and Brunken Construction & Sheesley Construction as a heavy equipment operator from 1964 - 1992
Alfred enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing and western movies.

No Memorial service will be held at this time. To fulfill Alfred’s & Betty’s requests their ashes will be spread in the Black Hills which will take place sometime in June.
