Margaret Evonne Brendsel Bailey passed away from a stroke on April 9th, 2006 in San Jose, California at the age of 67.
Margaret Evonne Brendsel Bailey was born in Sioux Falls, South Dakota on June 3, 1938 to Lars and Mabel (Gunderson) Brendsel of Baltic, South Dakota. She was baptized and confirmed at the West Nidaros Church near Crooks, South Dakota and spent her childhood years on the family farm near Baltic. Margie attended a country school through sixth grade and then continued at Lyons Public School until graduation. She graduated from Augustana College in 1960 with degrees in business and music. Margie was a talented musician, playing the organ for church services at West Nidaros, SD and churches in California. She had a beautiful singing voice and sang in the Augustana College choir as well as church choirs in South Dakota, Texas and California. Margie also was an accomplished pianist, playing solos and accompaniments. Margie will be remembered for her kind, thoughtful ways and her good-natured disposition. She was capable in so many ways. She was an expert seamstress and enjoyed needlework and gardening. She was very good with numbers and loved baking and cooking. She was an animal lover and took pleasure in watching birds. Margie was married to Rodney Bailey of Lakefield, MN on December 20, 1959 at West Nidaros Church.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband Rod of Gilroy, CA; son Jeffry of Newark, CA; daughter Lauren and husband Lyle Liden of Woodbridge, CA. She also leaves her 102 year old father, Lars Brendsel, formerly of Baltic, now residing at Waterford at All Saints in Sioux Falls, brother Leland (Diane) Brendsel of Queenstown, MD, sister Marilyn (Verne) Swanson of Crooks, SD, and many other relatives and friends. Margie loved flowers but, if you wish, a donation to the Humane Society or charity of your choice would also comfort her family. Blessed be her memory.

Funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM Saturday, April 15, 2006 at West Nidaros Lutheran Church, rural Crooks. Burial will be in the West Nidaros Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM Saturday at the Church. Minnehaha Funeral Home, Baltic is in charge of arrangements
