Gilbert Myron Miller Jr. 69, of Colton died Sat. March 14, 2009 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, MN.
Memorial services will be at 10:30 AM Thurs. March 19, 2009 at the Minnehaha Funeral Home, Colton.
Gilbert Myron Miller was born on May 21, 1939 at Crow Creek, South Dakota to Gilbert “Skinny” and Ethel (McGee) Miller. He attended Stephen and Crow Creek High Schools. He joined the United States Army at the age of 16 and received his GED while in the service. He has made his home in the Colton and Chester area for the past 14 years. During this time he was employed with Sweetman Construction, as a concrete driver.
During his spare time he enjoyed and loved the sport of rodeo. Whether watching it on TV, going to rodeos to watch or riding in rodeos or riding with his kids. He also loved the outdoors and hunting.
Grateful for having shared his life are his children, Jacque Miller, (fiance Maurice Barrick), Renner; Dane Miller, Brookings; Danielle Miller, Colton, 3 brothers, Richard, Pierre; Harold “Curley”, Fort Thompson; Edward “Tuffy”, Sioux Falls; 3 sisters, Mona Gakin, Oacoma; Debbie Miller, Mitchell; and Diana High Bear, Phoenix.
Preceding him in death are his parents, Gilbert and Ethel; his son Gavin Michael; 3 brothers, a sister, and an infant brother.
