Joann Kay Boettcher, 66, of Baltic passed away suddenly, Sunday, August 6, 2017 in Flandreau.
Funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM Friday, August 11, 2017 at Zion Lutheran Church, Sioux Falls. Visitation will be from 5-7:00PM Thursday at the church. Burial will be in the St. Olaf Cemetery, Baltic.
The family requests memorial be given to Zion Love Kitchen.
Joann Kay was born March 18, 1951, in Armour, SD, to parents Gordon and Gladys (Hahn) Kludt. She graduated from Delmont High School in 1969, and then graduated from Nettelton Business College with a secretarial degree.
Joann married Ken Boettcher July 11, 1970 in Tripp, South Dakota. They have lived in Baltic for the past 40 years. She worked as the secretary for Baltic and East Nidaros Lutheran Parish for several years until her retirement.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and was very active in their Love Kitchen Ministry, and the Altar Guild. Joann’s focus in life was her role as grandmother, mother and homemaker. She loved the Lord and had a smile and hug for everyone. She enjoyed working in their vending business and traveling with Ken for the last few years.
Grateful for having shared her life are her husband, Ken, Baltic; her children and their spouses, Christopher and Kim Boettcher, and their children, Ava Jo and Ellie, Sioux Falls; Jennifer and Robert Thomas and their sons, Brock and Bowen, Rogers, Arkansas; and Joshua and Cecilia Boettcher and their daughter, Aiyana, Omaha, Nebraska; her mother, Gladys Schamber, Sioux Falls; her sisters, Julie (James) Kaufman, Delmont; Janet (Jamie) Gremmert, Peoria, Arizona; and Jaclyn Kludt, Peoria, Arizona; and numerous extended family and friends that were blessed to have her in their lives.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents and her father, Gordon Kludt.
