Wm. Clair Darger

March 25, 1936 — May 10, 2017

Wm. Clair Darger, 81, of Sioux Falls died Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at Bethany Lutheran Home.

Funeral services will begin at 10:30 AM Saturday, May 13, 2017 at East Side Lutheran Church, Sioux Falls. Visitation with the family present will be Friday from 5-7:00 PM at the church.

William Clair Darger was born March 25, 1936 in Slayton, Minnesota to parents William and Harriet (Reinsma) Darger. He moved with his parents to Sioux Falls as a child. He married Beverly Doty February 4, 1956 in Sioux Falls. To this union four children were born.

Clair was united in marriage to Lorraine "Lori" Buskohl on June 19, 1999.

Clair worked at Tiger Mowers for 35 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, camping and could be found working in his favorite place (his shop) on a variety of projects.

After Clair retired woodworking was his hobby of choice. His health declined due to the advancement of Parkinson’s disease, yet he never complained, always had a smile on his face and sparkle in his eye.

He was a member of the Moose Lodge, an active member of Messiah New Hope Lutheran Church and later East Side Lutheran Church.

Grateful for having shared his life are his children, Susan (Dan) Thompson, David Darger, and Krystal (Steve) Duffy, all of Sioux Falls; ten grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren; a sister Jean Darger, Sioux Falls; a brother, Mike Darger, Klamath Falls, OR. two nieces and two nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son Roger, grandson Jesse, wife Lori, and a sister Jean.
