Larry Gene Hamman, 67, of Baltic, SD passed away unexpectedly Saturday, February 18, 2017.

Funeral services will begin at 10:00 AM Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at West Nidaros Lutheran Church, rural Crooks, SD. Burial will be in Lebanon Cemetery, rural Ortley, SD.

Visitation with the family present will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at the church.

Larry was born March 4, 1949 to Alvin and Fern (Engstrom) Hamman in Webster, SD. Larry graduated from high school in 1967 in Waubay, SD. From there he worked in construction, trucking, farming and cattle.

Larry was married to Glenda Long in September of 1970. To them were born two sons and a daughter,
Jess, Jason and Stacey Hamman.

In 1978 he was married to Rita Czmowski. To them was born one son, Robert Hamman.

On July 1, 1988, Larry was married to Elvina Bisgard and welcomed two sons into his family, Josh and Daniel Clayton.

Larry enjoyed having morning coffee with his neighbors, spending time with his family and hunting. He liked spending time with his grandsons. He was looking forward to working with his oldest son Jess in his new construction business.

Larry was preceded in death by his mother, Fern on February 7, 1959; brother, Lyle on October 5, 1975 and father, Alvin on May 22, 2004.

Larry is survived by his wife, Elvina; children and grandchildren, Jess (Kristin) Hamman and Austin, Kolby and Jace, Sioux Falls, SD, Jason (Ruth) Hamman and Hayden, Hartford, SD, Stacey (Travis) Denison and Jaden, Jasper and Jonah, Lake Preston, SD, Robert (Keri) Hamman and Gracie, Alexis, Jordyn and Rylee, Josh (Erin) Clayton and Henry and Grant, Shelbyville, IN and Daniel Clayton, Arlington, SD; special cousins, Cheryl “Tootie” Berger and Mary Snyder; step brothers, step sisters and a half-sister, Warren (Carol) Barse, Wayne (Lynn) Barse, Brenda Barse, Barb (Dave) Dailey and Linda (Randy) Barnhardt; all his many friends and neighbors and the Saturday morning coffee group: Todd Sundal, Randall Questad and Jared Questad.
