James Larson, age 67, of Garretson, passed away on Friday, February 10, 2017, at Bethany Home-Sioux Falls. Memorial services will begin at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, February 15, 2017, at Zion Lutheran Church, Garretson. Visitation will be from 5-7:00 pm Tuesday, at the Minnehaha Funeral Home, Garretson.
Jim was born on April 27, 1949, in Sioux Falls, to Arthur and Bernice (Stadum) Larson. He grew up and attended school in Sioux Falls until moving with his parents to a farm near Garretson in 1962. He graduated from Garretson High School and spent the rest of his life in Garretson. He married Barbara Juel on June 2, 1984, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa.
Jim, or as he was more affectionately known as, “Lover”, was an avid junker and collector. He held various jobs over the years in Garretson and knew everyone.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara, Garretson; siblings: Janice Reynolds, Omaha, Nebraska, Gale (Barbara) Larson, Garretson, and Steve (Mary) Larson, Garretson; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Bernice Larson.
