Keith Alan Hellwig, 30, of Sioux Falls died Sunday, January 22, 2017 at his home.
Mass of the Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 AM Saturday, January 28, 2017 at St Joseph the Workman Catholic Church at Huntimer, rural Colton. Visitation will begin at 6:00 PM Friday, with a Wake Service at 7:00 PM at the church.
Keith Alan Hellwig was born June 15, 1986 in Aberdeen to parents Keith and Kathie (Hagadone) Hellwig. He lived with his parents in Aberdeen and attended school there. He then started 9th grade at Tri Valley School graduating in 2004. He later attended Southeast Tech in Sioux Falls. He was employed at Safelite Auto Glass as a mobile installer and enjoyed it because he was enthusiastic about manual labor - he loved working with his hands.
Keith married Brittany Ingersoll December 14, 2016 in Sioux Falls.
Keith was a strong and passionate man. He was a social guy with a close group of friends who were both local and Online as he was an avid gamer and made great friendship through that medium as well. Eve Online was one of his favorite games to play – he loved playing a space pirate and being able to fly through the stars. Space travel and robots were interests of his and the night sky was on his favorite things to study. He also enjoyed Xbox games such as Dark Souls, Arc and Titanfall. As well as playing the card game Magic: The gathering. He had a great love and respect for nature and getting lost in the wood was his happy place. He enjoyed movies, especially horror and the Alien movies. He had a passion for music, especially hard rock, EDM and industrial as well as a few special songs from other genres.
He loved playing pool with his friends in town and was on a local pool league that was based out of the Nickel Spot. He favorite holidays were Halloween and Valentine’s Day! He will always be loved and missed by all that knew him, near and far.
Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Brittany, Columbia Heights, Minnesota; his mother and step father, Kathie and Frank Alleven, Colton; his father and step mother, Keith and Melissa Hellwig, Atkins, Arkansas; brother, Travis Hellwig, Sioux Falls; sister, Alexandra (Brian) Behrens, Mitchell; step sister, Kelli Tollison, Danville, Arkansas; grandmothers, Dorothy Hagadone, Aberdeen and Ann Hellwig, Ewa Beach Hawaii and numerous cousins and a nephew.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Ray Hagadone and Ernest Hellwig.
