Delores L. Anderson, 83, died Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at the Good Samaritan Luther Manor in Sioux Falls.
Funeral services will begin at 2:00 PM Friday, January 20, 2017 at Baltic Lutheran Church, Baltic. Burial will be in the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Garretson. Visitation with the family present will be from 5-7:00 PM Thursday at the Minnehaha Funeral Home, Baltic.
Delores Lavonne was born to parents Louis and Geneva (Nelson) Hamre on February 4, 1933 at Garretson. She moved with her family to Baltic in 1943 and attended Moen Country School and Baltic High School graduating in 1951. After graduation, she moved to Sioux Falls where she was employed at the Nickel Café and Dakota News Company.
On September 28, 1952, she married Charles Randall and was a homemaker and mother living on a farm near Colton. She then moved to Sioux Falls and married Rodney Anderson on December 1, 1976. She was employed at Minnehaha Country Club and also held a variety of other sales and food service positions over the years. She moved to northeast South Dakota in 1992 where she was a caretaker of the elderly and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Garden City. She moved to Brandon in 2005. In November 2010 she moved to the Good Samaritan Luther Manor in Sioux Falls.
Delores had a compassion for people, enjoyed baking, cooking, collecting recipes, photography, nature gardening and feeding the birds.
Delores was baptized at St. Paul Lutheran Church and confirmed at Baltic Lutheran Church, while in Colton she was active at First Lutheran Church and the Extension Club.
Grateful for having shared her life are her children, Terry Randall, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Mark (Karla) Randall, Harrisburg; and Bonnie (Mark) Randall-Hanson, Roseville, Minnesota; eleven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; her sister, Elaine (Ben) Kringen and brother, Gerald (Joanne) Hamre, both of Baltic.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Craig Randall.
