Delores Jean Bunde, 83, of Lyons passed away Sunday, October 30, 2016 at her home surrounded by her adoring husband and loving family.
Funeral services will begin at 2:00 PM Thursday, November 3, 2016 at West Nidaros Lutheran Church, rural Crooks. Burial will be in the West Nidaros Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be from 4:30 to 7:00 PM Wednesday at the church.
Delores Jean was born March 31, 1933 to Irvin and Mary (Butcher) McGee at Letcher, South Dakota. As a small child she moved with her parents to the Crooks area. She attended and graduated from Lyons High School.
Delores married William “Bill” Bunde September 19, 1953 at First Baptist Church in Sioux Falls. She worked for the Crane Company for a short time before her children were born. She and Bill lived and farmed west of Lyons after their marriage.
She was a member of the West Nidaros Lutheran Church and WELCA. She enjoyed life and filled it with raising her children, gardening – including a rose garden. She was a trophy winning bowler and loved to dance. She spent endless hours maintaining the swimming pool for the enjoyment of family and friends. Family was her life.
Grateful for having shared her life are her husband, William “Bill”, Lyons; sons and their spouses, Terry and Deb Bunde, Lyons; Tim and Ann Bunde, Hartford; Todd and Joni Bunde, Lyons; twelve grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, and two sisters, Hazel Brinkman, Blair, Nebraska and Joyce Lucas, Chamberlain and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her sons, David and Troy, parents, her siblings, Jake, Albert, Helen, Welma, Willard, and Jody.
