Cody Mews, 29, of Crooks, SD passed away Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at his home.

Memorial services will begin at 11:00 AM Saturday, October 29, 2016 at Benton Lutheran Church, rural Crooks.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.

Cody Mews was born March 1, 1987 to parents Scott and Bonnie (Schreurs) Mews in Sioux Falls, SD. He attended grade school in Colton, SD. He continued his education at Children’s Care Hospital graduating in 2008. He then attended Day Service at Lifescapes.

Cody was our unique gift from God. He taught us so much without ever saying a word. He taught us patience, lots of patience, kindness and perspective. Our little “Rainman” loved his movies. They had to be played in the right order at the right time. Cody did not like loud noises or people with loud voices, but he loved thunderstorms and the sound of his brother getting yelled at. Cody had attitude! He enjoyed pretty girls and funny jokes. Anyone who knew him well knew he was as sharp as a tack and mean as a snake. Cody loved his family and we loved him more.

Grateful for having shared his life are his parents, Scott and Bonnie Mews, Crooks, SD; brother, Jake (Ellie) Mews, Fridley, MN; grandfather, Irvin Schreurs, Baltic, SD; grandmother, Sharon Mews, Phoenix, AR. and numerous other relatives and many friends.

Cody was preceded in death by his grandmother, Betty Schreurs and grandfather Bob Mews.
