Cara Jo Bonte, 39, of Garretson died unexpectedly Monday, October 10, 2016 at Avera McKennan Hospital. Funeral services will begin at 10:30 AM Friday, October 14, 2016 at Zion Lutheran Church, Garretson, SD. Visitation with the family present will be from 5-7:00 PM Thursday at the Minnehaha Funeral Home, Garretson. Memorials may be directed to the Blue Dragon Foundation.

Cara Jo Bonte was born July 26, 1977 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Cathy Bonte and Richard Sobiech. She moved to Garretson with her mother in 1979. She graduated from Garretson High School and then attended Southeast Tech. She was employed at Avera Medical Group as a clinic coder for the last ten years.

She enjoyed old cars and loud motorcycles, her garage time with Deanna, spending time with “her girl” Maiya, attending DWU and USF football games to watch her cousins, cheering on her Chicago Bears, and her annual trip to Sturgis. She loved her many adventures with her crazy B’s and having fun with the Sarah C. Gang.

Survivors include her daughter, Maiya Strand, Garretson; sisters, Dottie Benson and Jesika Benson both of Sherman; step father, William Benson, Sherman, nephew, Owen Benson, Sherman; her father, Richard Sobiech, Bloomington, MN, aunts and uncles, Dave (Deb) Bonte, Lurene (Rick) Vandersnick, Steve (Karen) Bonte, and Marcia Bonte, all of Garretson and Ken Bonte of Beresford and many cousins.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Cathy Benson, aunt, Deborah Bonte, uncle, Darrel Bonte, and her grandparents, Charles and Irene Bonte.
