Gary Lon Pearson, 62, of Sioux Falls died Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at the Sanford Foundation Hospice Cottage surrounded by his family.
Funeral services will begin at 10:30 AM Friday, October 7, 2016 at Benton Lutheran Church, rural Crooks. Burial will be in the Benton Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church.
Gary Lon Pearson was born August 4, 1954 in Sioux Falls to parents Delmar and Lorraine (Harpham) Pearson. He grew up on the family farm near Crooks and attended Crooks Grade school and graduated from Tri Valley High School in 1972. He then attended Tech school in Madison. He was employed at F & H Jewelry, Gar's Gun Shop, and Walgreens for twelve years.
Gary enjoyed opal jewelry, riding motorcycles, firearms and target shooting.
Grateful for having shared his life are his mother, Lorraine Pearson, Sioux Falls; his siblings, Scott Pearson, Fargo, North Dakota, Evan (Bonnie) Pearson, Dallas, Texas, Gail Pearson and Judy Johnson, both of Sioux Falls; his nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Delmar.
The family request that memorials may be given to Sanford Hospice.
