Larry Dean Unzelman, age 77, of Renner, died on Saturday, September 10, 2016, at Avera-McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 am Wednesday, September 14, 2016, at the Minnehaha Funeral Home in Garretson with visitation beginning at 10:00 am. Interment will follow the service at Woodlawn Cemetery in Sioux Falls.

Larry was born on April 30, 1939, in Luverne, Minnesota, to Volney and Thelma (Peterson) Unzelman. He grew up in Sioux Falls and attended school there. He married Sheila Clark on May 10, 1956. Following his honorable discharge from the United States Air Force, he lived in California until returning to Sioux Falls. He worked at John Morrel & Company for 18 years. On November 19, 1993, he married Charlotte Mae Myott in Sioux Falls.

Larry was a past member of Our Savior’s and Bethel Lutheran Churches in Sioux Falls. He was active in the C.B. Club, Snowmobile Club, and bowling league. He greatly enjoyed playing guitar, fishing, bowling, working on cars, and dancing.

Larry is survived by his wife, Char, Renner, children: Michel Unzelman, Sioux Falls, Terri (Melanie Nichols) Johnson, Tea, Larrene Kaderabek, Sioux Falls, and Dean (Ellen) Unzelman, Sioux Falls; 13 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; step-children: Bob Fountain, Billings, MT, Jay Fountain, Canova, and Kim (Mike) Sattler, Pierre, 2 step-grandchildren; and siblings: Joyce (Roy) Carlberg, Portland, OR, and Shirley (Carlan) Westre, San Diego, CA. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Thelma Bernice Unzelman, and grandson, Jordan Powell.
