Michael Dean Munk, 61, of Sioux Falls passed away unexpectedly Thursday, July 21, 2016.

Funeral services will begin at 10:00 AM Monday, July 25, 2016 at Minnehaha Funeral Home Chapel in Dell Rapids.

Visitation with the family present will be from 3:00 to 5:00 PM Sunday at Minnehaha Funeral Home.

Mike was born November 22, 1954 in Sioux Falls, SD to Melvin and Irene (Wohler) Munk. He attended school in Dell Rapids graduating from St. Mary High School in 1973. After graduation he had many jobs that included his dad’s self-service gas station, Mel’s Highway Service, Hale Trailer in Sioux Falls, SD, Nu-Way Liquor in Sioux Falls, SD, T.O. Haas in Brandon, SD, Dressen Custom Trailers in Dell Rapids and HyVee in Sioux Falls.

Mike enjoyed motorcycling, snowmobiling with his friends, golfing, watching NASCAR and sprint car races. He was known by his nickname, MOPAR by many. He liked spending time with his nieces and nephews and was always kidding around with them. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Dell Rapids

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Irene Munk.

Mike is survived by his brother, David (Karen) Munk, Dell Rapids, SD; their children, Brian (Katie) Munk and Mason and Abbey, Ft Worth, TX and Melissa (Darren) Dressen and Jadyn and Cadence, Colman, SD; sister, Kris (Dale) Machmiller, Garretson, SD; their children, Amanda (Jason) Kiner and Kaden, Lily and Sage, Minnetonka, MN and Travis (Katie) Machmiller, Garretson, SD as well as many other relatives and friends.
