Richard H. “Dick” Christenson, 87 of Renner died Monday, October 19, 2015 at the VA Medical Center.

Funeral services will begin at 2:00 PM Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Renner Lutheran Church, Renner. Burial will be in the Berg Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be from 6-8:00 PM Friday at the church.

Richard was born March 6, 1928 at Renner to parents George and Olga (Nessan) Christenson. He grew up in Renner and attended Renner Grade School and graduated from Brandon High School. After his graduation he entered the United States Army and served from 1950 until his discharge in 1952.

Dick married Delores Eggers January 26, 1951 at Camp Atterbury, Edinburg, Indiana. After his discharge they moved back to Renner where he lived until his death. Dick worked for John Morrell and Company until his retirement in 1982.

Dick was a member of Renner Lutheran Church, Renner American Legion and was an avid Renner Monarchs fan.

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Delores, Renner, daughter, Lorie (Mike) Grau, Sioux Falls; six grandchildren, Jeff (Tia) Christenson, Rich (Joy) Christenson, Dusty (Tara) Grau, Jena (TJ) Rolfing, Jay (Shannon) Grau, and Lee (Amy) Grau, nine great grandchildren, Kira, Madison, McKenzie, Hudson, Lia, Miles, Gage, Graham, and Tristan; a brother, Roger (Lois) Christenson, Sioux Falls and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son Richard “Jim”, brother, Cary Flamoe, step mother Esther, and step father, Paul Flamoe.
