Audene Wingert, age 81, of Garretson, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 20, 2015, at the Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 AM, Saturday, September 26, 2015, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Garretson. Visitation with the family present will begin at 5:00 PM Friday, at the church, with a Rosary and Prayer Service beginning at 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be donated to St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church or the St. Joseph's Indian School in Chamberlain, South Dakota.

Audene Stoeveken was born July 25, 1934. She was adopted and loved deeply by Martin and Inez Stoeveken, who raised her in Sioux Falls. She attended Washington High School and later graduated from the University of South Dakota with a Social Work Degree. While in college, she met Marvin Wingert. They were married on May 5th 1956. Marvin and Audene moved to Garretson where they raised their family.

Audene's love and energy was directed toward her family. Over the years she also gave her time and talents to the community serving on the Garretson Ambulance, the American Heart Association, Girl Scouts, and as a social worker at Palisade Manor. She passed onto her family a love of pets and gardens.

Grateful for having shared her life: Don (Jane) Wingert , Sioux Falls, Kathy (Eric) Hall, Plymouth, MN, Elissa Kallsen, Garretson, Mary (Scott) DeWitte, Garretson, Anne (Tom) Castaneda, St. Paul, Maria (Tony) Wingert , St. Paul, Matt (Trish), Valley Springs. Grandchildren: Anthony, Joe, Alex, Caitie, Matt, Liz, Adam (Valerie), Steve, Taylor, Jacob and Tony (Kristina). Great grandchildren: Marlie and Miguel.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son Marvin Jr, “Sugar”, husband Marvin, and granddaughter, Audene.
