Hazel Janette Grinde, 93, of Colton died Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at the Dells Nursing and Rehab Center in Dell Rapids.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, August 10, 2015 at First Lutheran Church, Colton. Burial will be in the St. Ansgar Cemetery, preceding the service. Visitation with the family present will be Sunday from 1-3:00 PM at the Minnehaha Funeral Home, Colton.
Hazel was born November 5, 1921 in Sioux Falls to parents Bill and Edna (French) Jones. She moved with her parents to Colton in 1930. She attended school in Colton and graduated from Colton High School in 1939.
Hazel married Granville W. Grinde January 11, 1942 at First Lutheran Church in Colton. After their marriage they farmed north of Colton until 1982, when they moved into Colton.
She enjoyed craft work, crocheting, playing cards, and watching baseball, but most of all she loved being with her family.
Grateful for having shared her life are her children, Paul (Carol) Grinde, Colton; Donna Swier, Colton; grandchildren, Mike (Shelly) Grinde, Joan Grinde, Mark (Melissa) Swier, Kent Swier,; her great grandchildren and many friends.
She was preceded in death by parents, her husband, Granville on August 11, 1999 and son in law, Roger Swier.
