Daniel “Danny” Lee Erickson, age 63, died on Monday, June 29, 2015, at his home near Garretson. Funeral services will begin at 10:30 am Friday, July 3, 2015, at the East Nidaros Lutheran Church, rural Baltic. Visitation with the family present will be from 6-8:00 pm Thursday, at the Minnehaha Funeral Home, Garretson. Interment will be in the Swedona Covenant Cemetery, rural Brandon.

Danny was born on March 22, 1952, to Clifford and Dorothy (Archer) Erickson at Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls. He graduated from Garretson High School in 1971. He spent most of his life working at John Morrell’s in Sioux Falls, but most recently worked at Berry Plastics.

Danny was known for his quick wit and extraordinary generosity, and had a love for John Deere lawnmowers. His pride and joy were his niece and nephews, Ben Mathison, Christina Egge, Robert Mathison, and Joseph Egge.

He is survived by his mother, Dorothy Erickson, Garretson; sister, Joanne (Todd) Egge, Brandon; brother-in-law, Steve Mathison, Sioux Falls; his niece and nephews; and numerous other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Clifford Erickson, and a sister, Pam Mathison.
