Mildred "Millie" Fangmeier, 85, of Pipestone, MN passed away Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Good Samaritan Society.

Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at St. Leo Catholic Church in Pipestone. Burial will be in St. Leo Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation with the family present will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM with a Wake Service at 7:00 PM Monday, April 6, 2015 at the church.

Millie was born on June 7, 1929 to Alfred "Alf" Engbarth and Constance "Connie"( Ringer) Engbarth near Adrian, Minnesota. She grew up on a farm outside Adrian with her siblings Irene, John, Florence and Rose. After the death of Millie's mother in 1931, Alfred married Viola Steinhoff in 1934 and her sister Darlene was born shortly thereafter. In 1938 Millie and her family moved to their farm near Woodstock, Minnesota before finally moving to Pipestone, Minnesota in 1944.

Millie married Robert "Bob" Bruce Fangmeier on October 7, 1950 in Pipestone, Minnesota and they had four children-James, Douglas, Diann and Susan. In addition to being a mother and homemaker, she worked for Bunkers Hardware, JC Penney, Foreman's, Whipple's and Rollie Johnson's dental practice. She also volunteered at the Pipestone County Medical Center. She was a long time member of St. Leo Catholic Church and a member of the Catholic Daughter's of America. She loved visiting friends and solving crossword puzzles and word search puzzles.

Following Bob's death in 2009 she was at Jasper Assisted Living and later moved to Good Samaritan Society in Pipestone where she remained until her death.

She is survived by her children, Jim and his wife Sandy of Durham, NC; Doug and his wife Jan of Inver Grove Heights, MN; Diann and her husband Tom Marten of St. Peter, MN and Sue of Chester, SD; her sister, Darlene; her six grandchildren Michelle, Mark, Seth, Sean, Sierra and Coralia; and her four great-grandchildren Alexis, Sydney, Gabriel and Ryan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Bob, her sisters, Irene, Florence and Rose, her brother, John and step-mother, Vi.

She is remembered fondly and with love by many friends and family in the Pipestone community and beyond.
