Marjorie A. Egan, 91, of Colton died Sunday, February 1, 2015 at the Dells Nursing and Rehab Center in Dell Rapids.

Funeral services will begin at 10:30 AM Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at First Lutheran Church, Colton. Burial will be in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Colton. Visitation with the family present will be from 5:30 to 7:00 PM Tuesday at the church.

Marjorie was born May 4, 1923 to parents Olaf and Louise (Rothenbuehler) Rollag at Booge, SD. She grew up in the Booge area and graduated from Valley Springs High School.

Marjorie married Keith Egan September 5, 1948 at Palisade Lutheran Church in Rock County, Minnesota. Marjorie and Keith farmed in the Colton area until their retirement. She also worked for Berge’s Store in Colton for many years. She moved to Colton Assisted Living in 2005, then to Orchard Hills in October 2007 and finally to Terrace Manor in April of 2010.

Marjorie was a member of First Lutheran Church and was very active in the First Lutheran Women’s groups. She enjoyed dancing with Keith, playing cards and visiting with friends, and attending whatever activities in which her grandchildren were involved. Her scalloped potatoes, apple pie, and chocolate cake with butterscotch filling were famous among family and friends.

Grateful for having shared her life are her children, Cindy (Rick) Oyen, Colton, Bob (Judi) Egan, Eagan, Minnesota; Deb (Terry) Bunde, Lyons; eleven grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; and a sister Beverly Olson, Bloomington, Minnesota.

She was preceded in death by her husband Keith on March 3, 2008, her parents, and a brother Stanley Rollag.
