Arlene K. Hardy, 83, of Colton died December 22, 2014 at Sanford USD Medical Center.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, January 4, 2015 at the Faith Community Church, Colton. Burial will be in the East Dalton Oakhill Cemetery in Muskegon, Michigan at a later date.

Arlene was born on a farm Southeast of Colton to Wiebern “Weep” and Alice (Burgers) Visser. She graduated from Colton High School in 1949 and later that year she moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan where she worked for Lears Manufacturing. Arlene and her husband then moved to Apache Junction Arizona where they owned and operated a welding shop for two years. They returned to Muskegon Michigan where they owned and operated a Bar & Grill for two years. They then operated the Hardy Market in Muskegon until their retirement.

In November 1952 she married Charles Hardy, he passed away in 2000. After his death she moved to Luverne, Minnesota to be closer to family. After twelve years there she moved to Colton and then to the Colton Assisted Living for past four months.

Grateful for having shared her life are siblings, Lucille Miedema, Sheldon, Iowa; Bernice Wrage, Dell Rapids; Ethel (Gerald) Van Der Vliet, Colton; a sister in law, Shirley Visser, Wolf Point, Montana and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by five sisters, Nellie Waswick, Henrietta Roetman, Winnie Visser, Wilhelmina Wickre, Audrey Wold and two brothers, Anton “Tony” Visser and Walter Visser.
