Dianne Benson-Mann, age 62, of the Sioux Falls/Crooks area, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 19, 2014, at her home surrounded by her family. Funeral services will begin at 10:30 AM Monday, November 24, 2014, at Benton Lutheran Church, rural Crooks. Visitation with the family present will be from 5-8:00 PM Sunday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Benton Lutheran Church or Cemetery, or LifeScape (SD Achieve).

Dianne was born on October 29, 1952 to Rudolph “Rudy” and Lois (Miller) Benson. She was raised on a farm near Crooks and graduated from Tri-Valley High School in 1970. She worked at AT&T as a regional manager until her retirement in 2002. On May 21, 1994, she married Andrew Mann at Benton Lutheran Church. They made their home in Omaha until moving to their current home in 1995. Following her retirement from AT&T, she worked for Conlins for 5 years and then became a realtor/broker with Hegg Realty in 2007.

Dianne was a lifelong member of Benton Lutheran Church. She was always there to lead and promote a cause in the community and always thought of others before herself. She was instrumental in starting the Crooks Community Daycare. Her jobs allowed her lots of travel and she made homes in Minneapolis, New Jersey, Omaha, and Sioux Falls. She enjoyed interior decorating but the most important thing in her life was her family. She loved spending time with family and friends, especially around Christmas time.

Grateful for having shared her life are her husband, Andrew, Sioux Falls; son, Spencer, Sioux Falls; step-daughter, Lexi, and her friend Corey, Crooks; father, Rudy Benson, Sioux Falls/Crooks; siblings: Dale (Pat) Benson, Sioux Falls, Denise Benson, Sioux Falls, and Derry (Jan) Benson, Sioux Falls; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Lois, in 2000.
