Alice M. Luehmann, 87, of Garretson passed away Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at Palisade Manor.

Memorial services will begin at 2:00 PM Saturday, September 27, 2014 at Minnehaha Funeral Home Chapel in Garretson. Visitation will begin 1 hour prior to services.

Alice was born April 2, 1927 on a farm in Rock County, Minnesota to parents Ferdine and Wiebke (Hollmer) Holling. She received her education in country schools in the Hardwick and Jasper area. Alice was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Hardwick.

Alice married Helmuth Luehmann March 21, 1954. The couple was blessed with three sons. Alice liked collecting Teddy Bears. She always had an eye out for them at stores and rummage sales. She enjoyed playing cards, especially pinochle. She had a very good memory for names and phone numbers. Alice was very active at the nursing home with all the activities and visiting other residents.

Grateful for having shared her life are sons, Henry Luehmann, Sioux Falls and Peter Luehmann, Jasper; brother, Bill (Lois) Holling, Luverne; sister-in-law, Viola Holling, Colorado Springs, CO; numerous nieces; nephews; relatives and friends.

Alice was preceded in death by her son, David in 1974 and brother, Alvin Holling.
