Lawrence J. “Larry” Goodwin, 61, of Sherman died Friday, August 8, 2014 at his home due to natural causes.

Memorial services will begin at 2:00 PM Saturday, August 16, 2014 at the Minnehaha Funeral Home, Garretson. There will be no visitation.

Lawrence Jerry “Larry” Goodwin was born August 23, 1952 in Wenatchee, Washington to parents Lawrence and Marcella (Brown) Goodwin. His family moved to South Dakota and he attended school in Arlington. After his education he entered the service and was stationed in Germany. After the service he lived in California and later returned to South Dakota.

Larry married Lois Straw in April of 1997 in Garretson. They lived in Garretson and then in Sherman.

Larry worked for the Sioux Merchant Patrol Security Service for 18 years.

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Lois, Sherman, sons, L. J. Goodwin, Helena, Montana; Dakota Goodwin, Sherman; a daughter, Kristine McChessney, Parker; step son, Frank Kuhnert, Sioux Falls, step-daughter, Nicole Andera, Sioux Falls; eight grandchildren; a great granddaughter, Bella; a brother, Ed Goodwin, Watertown; sisters, Tammy Goodwin, Watertown; and Dolly Max, Watertown; and many other relatives and friends.
