Viola D. Borgen, 91, of Sioux Falls formerly of Renner died Friday, November 8, 2013 at the Good Samaritan Village in Sioux Falls.
Funeral services will begin at 10:30 AM Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at Renner Lutheran Church, Renner. Visitation with the family present will be from 5-7:00 PM Tuesday at the church.
Viola Doris Borgen was born December 5, 1921 at Chancellor, South Dakota to parents Henry and Winnie (Krull) Jurgens. She attended school and graduated from Chancellor High School.
Viola married Harold E. Borgen November 20, 1946 in Sisseton by Reverend Emil Borgen. After her marriage she worked with her husband in the gravel business as the bookkeeper and on the family farm. She was a long time member of the Renner Lutheran Church, where she was active in the ladies aid. Harold died January 25, 2006.
She was an avid Minnesota Twins Fan and active in the Renner Senior Citizens.
Grateful for having shared her life are her a son, Darrell Borgen and his wife Verla, Hartford; two daughters, Jean Borgen and Jane and her husband Merrill Larson all of Sioux Falls; four grandchildren, Jason (Earlene) Larson, Amy Borgen, Cory (Janson) Borgen, Travis (Stephanie) Montoya, six great grandchildren, J. T. Larson, Nicholas Larson, Hannah Montoya, Haley Montoya, Taylor Borgen, and Hadley Borgen; a brother, Luverne (Avis) Jurgens, Parker and a sister Nina Christenson, Sioux Falls.
She was preceded in death by a sister Mae Anderson and brothers, Harold Jurgens, Willie Jurgens, Lawrence Jurgens and Bert Jurgens.
