Bernice “Babe” Edmundson, 101, of Garretson died Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at Palisade Manor in Garretson.

Funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM Saturday, November 9, 2013 at Palisade Lutheran Church, Rock County, Minnesota. Burial will be in the Palisade Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 3:00 PM with the family present from 4-7:00 PM Friday at the Minnehaha Funeral Home, Garretson.

Bernice “Babe” was born October 23, 1912 to Jake and Mary (Bonn) Bogenrief in Rock County, Minnesota near Garretson. At the age of 4 she moved with her family to Altamont, South Dakota, where she received her education.

On November 22, 1933 she married Leonard Edmundson. After the death of Leonard in 1967, she moved into Garretson, where she was employed at the Garretson Bakery, Palisade Manor and then for Engebretson Hardware for several years.

Grateful for having shared her life are her two sons, LeMoyne (Donna) Edmundson, and Wayne (Barb) Edmundson all of Garretson; six grandchildren, Karla (Steve) Grogan, Kelvin (Melissa) Edmundson, Kristen (Eric) Nelson, Richard (Lori) Edmundson, Lynn (Gene) Coughlin, and Jon Edmundson, and seventeen great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by seven sisters and three brothers.
