Adeline G. Nelson, 92, of Garretson passed away peacefully Friday, September 27, 2013 at Good Samaritan Luther Manor in Sioux Falls.

Funeral services will begin at 10:30 AM Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at Zion Lutheran Church, Garretson. Burial will be in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be from 5-7:00 PM Tuesday at the Minnehaha Funeral Home, Garretson.

Adeline was born to Austin and Anna (Rollag) Bailey in rural Garretson on April 16, 1921 and graduated from Augustana Academy in Canton, South Dakota in 1939. Adeline taught school at Crooks before marrying Ralph J. Nelson on August 23, 1946.

Adeline was a farm wife and mother to eight children and a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Garretson. She was exceptionally generous and enjoyed making quilts, word games, and playing Yahtzee.

Grateful for having shared her life are daughters, Arlis and husband Rudy Ross, Minneapolis; Avonne Kaplan, Northfield, MN; Randi Telliard, San Diego, CA; and Amber and her husband Harry Bunker, Sioux Falls; sons, Ron and Reid Nelson, Garretson; fourteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren, and a sister in law, Audrae Bailey.

Adeline was preceded in death by her parents; husband Ralph, brother, Harold Baily, daughters, Ruth Nelson and Andrea Nelson and sons in law, Bob Telliard and Rich Kaplan.

Memorial may be directed to the Zion Lutheran Church in Garretson.
