Adrian M. Hanson, 73, of rural Baltic died Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls after a brief illness.

Funeral services will begin at 2:00 PM Saturday, May 4, 2013 at West Nidaros Lutheran Church, rural Crooks. Burial will be in the West Nidaros Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 5:00 PM Friday, with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM all at the church.

Adrian was born to parents Adolph and Aslaug “Dolly” (Moen) Hanson August 7, 1939 in Dell Rapids. He grew on the family farm near Baltic. He graduated from Lyons High School in 1958. After his education he worked in road construction and was a member of the Army National Guard. He returned to the family farm where he farmed until his death.

Adrian married Karen Kreutzfeldt April 25, 1964 at West Nidaros Lutheran Church.

Adrian was a fan of Johnny Cash music, loved cooking chili, and enjoyed attending his children's and grandchildren's activities. He was a member of the West Nidaros Lutheran Church.

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Karen, Baltic; his children, LaDonn (Craig Krogstad) Powell, Baltic, Vonda (John) Barnes, Sioux Falls, Mike (Becky) Hanson, Baltic, and Todd Hanson, Sioux Falls; four grandchildren, Natasha Powell, Levi, Jenna, and Cheyenne Hanson, a brother, Ardean Hanson, Crooks.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Jerry.
