VIEW VIDEO TRIBUTE

Warren Lee Engebretson, age 55, of Young America, Minnesota, formerly of Garretson, South Dakota died on October 1, 2012, at the Ridgeview Hospital in Waconia, Minnesota. Funeral services will begin at 1:30 P.M. Saturday, October 6, 2012, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Garretson. A private burial will precede the service on Saturday at the Zion Lutheran Cemetery. A memorial gathering will be held at 1:00 PM Sunday, October 21, 2012 at the Pavilion in Young America.

Warren was born November 11, 1956, at Dell Rapids, SD, to Roger and DeVona (Nesheim) Engebretson. He was raised on a farm north of Garretson, graduated from Garretson High School in 1975, and from South Dakota State University in 1979 with a mechanical engineering degree. Warren started his career with Gearhart in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. He moved to Minnesota to attend the University and went on to work with Sands, Inc. in Edina, Scherping Systems in Winsted, MN, Forward Technology in Plymouth, MN, and most recently as senior design engineer with Infinity Precision Systems in Chanhassen, MN. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends hunting, fishing, and snowmobiling in Northern Minnesota, was an aviation buff, and an avid Twins and Viking fan.

Grateful for having shared his life are Joe Engebretson, Young America, MN, his son from marriage in 1986 to Lynae Campbell Ashley, stepdaughter Crystal (Josh) Hintze, Salem, UT and grandson, Hunter Hintze; parents, Roger and DeVona Engebretson, Sherman, SD; siblings, Cheryl (Steve) Holzapfel, Sioux Falls, SD, Beth (Jim) Plahn, Garretson, SD, Gary Engebretson, Sherman, SD, and Cathy Engebretson, Coburg, OR; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by grandparents Elmer and Lorenza (Stensland) Engebretson and Oscar and Lucile (Hollister) Nesheim.
