Ole I. Aspaas, 91, died Saturday, March 10, 2012 at the Dells Nursing & Rehab Center in Dell Rapids. Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at Renner Lutheran Church, Renner. Burial will be in the East Nidaros Lutheran Cemetery, rural Baltic. Visitation will be from 5-7:00 PM Tuesday at the Minnehaha Funeral Home, Baltic.

Ole was born June 9, 1920 in Mapleton Township near Renner to parents Thomas and Bertha (Aasen) Aspaas. He grew up near Renner and graduated from Baltic High School in 1939. He farmed in the Renner area and then became a salesman. Ole also owned and operated the Monarch Steakhouse in Renner. Ole married Lorraine Butler on April 26, 1941 in Renner.

Ole was a member of Renner Lutheran Church, the Elks Club, Moose Lodge and the Renner Fire Department.

Grateful for having shared his life are his children, Allan Aspaas, Renner; Donna Brende, Crooks; Kay Aspaas, Sioux Falls; and Shari (Kevin) Brende; ten grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; a brother, Thomas (Shirley) Aspaas, Surprise, Arizona; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine on January 20, 2010, a son in law, Keith Brende, a brother Joe and a sister Olga Nelson.
