Donna M. Dybvig, 79, of Sioux Falls formerly of Colton died Saturday, January 14, 2012 at Dougherty Hospice House.
Memorial service will begin at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at First Lutheran Church, Colton. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M. on Monday, January 16, 2012 at the church.
Donna was born February 25, 1932 in Salida, Colorado to parents Hjalmer and Lillian (Dale) Pederson. She grew up in Colton and graduated from Colton High School. Donna married H. Darol Dybvig on December 16, 1950 in El Paso, Texas and they were married 52 years. They moved to farm near Colton where they lived until 1984 and then moved to Sioux Falls. Darol passed away April 13, 2003. She worked at McKennan Hospital for eight years and then worked as a Medical Assistant at Urology Specialist Chartered for 32 years and retired in 2006.
Donna was a very active member of First Lutheran Church in Colton. She enjoyed being apart of the Red Hatters Club in Sioux Falls and the Sweet Adelines. Donna loved golfing and spending time with her friends. She loved traveling and going on trips with Gen and Sharon “The Golden Girls”. Donna loved being surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Donna is survived by her children, Ellen (Tony) Fleming, Sioux Falls; Monica (Dennis) Oba, Broomfield, CO; Mark (Lori) Dybvig, Colton; John Dybvig, Colton;Tom (Cheryl) Dybvig, Tomball, TX; David (Jill) Dybvig, Hermosa, SD; eight grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; special nieces Kim (Mike) Johns and Mike Pederson and nephew, Johnny Pederson.
Donna was preceded in death by her husband Darol, parents, infant brother, a brother John “Butch” Pederson and an infant son.
