Allison Leigh Koepsell
October 28, 1983 — December 31, 2011
Allison Leigh Koepsell, 28, passed away at her home after a brief illness on Saturday, December 31, 2011.
Allison was born on October 28, 1983 to Loren and Linda (Esser) Koepsell in Sioux Falls. She received educational services from many dedicated people through the Dell Rapids Public Schools, East Dakota Co-op, Children’s Care Hospital and School and Roosevelt High School. In 2003, Allison transitioned to adult services with DakotAbilities and a year later, into their residential program.
Allison is survived by her parents, sisters, Shannon and Chelsea (Fiance David Mann);
grandparents, Lorraine Koepsell, Canova; Martin and Dolores Esser, Howard; her roommate, Janis; the caring DakotAbilities staff at 922 and at the center, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, co-workers and friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandpa, Robert Koepsell, childhood buddies, Keith Person and Matt McGee, and family friend and advocate for the disabled, Pat Redinius.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, January 5, 2012 at Hope Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 PM Wednesday, January 4, 2012 with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM at the church. Burial will be in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, rural Canova.
