Lloyal L. Thompson, 80, passed away Saturday, May 28, at Southridge Healthcare in Sioux Falls, SD.
Lloyal was born August 8, 1930 at home in Colton, South Dakota to parents, Lawrence and Dorothy Thompson. He grew up in Colton and Beaver Creek, Minnesota. He was baptized and confirmed at Colton Lutheran Church. He graduated from Beaver Creek High School in 1949. He worked in construction and trucking. He married Joyce Heronimus and they had two children.
He married Betty Huntimer Haron on August 31, 1990 in Lead, South Dakota. Lloyal and Betty spent many happy years together. Their fondest times were traveling and visiting with family and friends. Lloyal enjoyed using his carpentry skills to help others. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls.
Lloyal was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Enid Hunt. He is survived by Betty, his daughter, Dawn Hanson and husband, Mike, and grandchildren, Adam and Heather of Waycross, Georgia, his sister, Barb Blue and husband, Bob of Lead, South Dakota, and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
A memorial service will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls on Wednesday, June 1, 2011at 11:00 AM with lunch to follow.
