Wilemena "Minnie" Van Duyn

Wilemena “Minnie” Van Duyn, 95, of Colton died Saturday, April 16, 2011 at Sanford Hospice Cottage.
Funeral service will be at 1:00 PM Wednesday, April 20, 201 at Faith Community Church, Colton. Burial will be in the Colton Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be from 5-8:00 PM Tuesday at the Minnehaha Funeral Home, Colton.
Wilemena C. (Swier) Van Duyn was born April 14, 1916 to Peter and Tryntje Swier at Fairview, South Dakota. She attended country school near Colton. She was married to Cornie Van Duyn on January 17, 1935 near Colton. She was a member of the Christian Reformed Church.
She enjoyed cooking, sewing, quilting, gardening, spending time with the grandchildren and sitting in her swing, watching the birds and pets.
Those thankful for sharing her life are her children; Darlene (Marvin) Koopman, Muscatine, Iowa; Paul (Karen) Van Duyn, Colton; Jan (Bob) Jensen, Abilene, Texas; Doug (Debbie) Van Duyn Colton; Stan (Colette) Van Duyn, Sioux falls; seventeen grandchildren; several great grandchildren; her sisters, Ann Fischer, Chicago, Ill; and Kathryn Mulder, Rock Valley, IA.
Wilemena was preceded in death by her husband, Cornie on January 1, 2002, an infant daughter and daughter, Cleo Boen, a grandson, Paul Boen, seven brothers and four sisters.
