Beverly Cunningham

Beverly Cunningham, 66, of Colton died Thursday, March 17, 2011 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at First Lutheran Church, Colton. Burial will be in the Colton Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 3:00 PM Monday with the family present from 5-7:00 PM at the Minnehaha Funeral Home, Colton.

Beverly was born July 24, 1944 at Wessington, SD to parents Jacob and Bertha (Wilheim) Becker. She attended country school near Miranda, SD, graduating from Faulkton High School in 1962. She was enrolled at SDSU in Brookings for two years, and then graduated from Southern State College in Springfield with a teaching degree in 1966.

Beverly married Dale Cunningham June 27, 1964. They lived in Bryant, SD for six years where she taught for about two years before starting their family. They moved to Colton, SD in 1972. She taught kindergarten at Tri Valley for many years.

Beverly’s family was important to her, especially her grandchildren. She was supportive of all of them in all facets of their lives. She was a member of United Methodist Church in Colton and enjoyed gardening, baking and cooking.

Grateful for having shared her life are two daughters, Lisa (Sean) Munson, Twin Falls, ID; Susan (Brent) Dekker, Sioux Falls; five grandchildren, Dylan and Brandon Munson, Twin Falls, ID; Cole, Chase and Avery Dekker, Sioux Falls; brother, Bill Becker, Miranda, SD; Dale Cunningham, Colton, SD and many other relatives and friends.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents.
