Lea Parker

Lea Parker, 94, of Sioux Falls formerly of Rapid City died Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at Dow Rummel Village in Sioux Falls.

Funeral services will begin at 10:00 AM Monday, February 28, 2011 at South Canyon Lutheran Church in Rapid City. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church. Burial will be in the Mountain View Cemetery, Rapid City. Minnehaha Funeral Home, Baltic is in charge of arrangements.

Lea was born September 2, 1916 to parents Christian and Karolina (Ackerman) Kauk at Artas, South Dakota. She grew up near Artas and attended country school near there. She lived Mound City and Aberdeen until moving to Rapid City in 1962. She married Raymond Parker February 19, 1971 in Rapid City. She worked at a seamstress for many years in her home. Raymond died in 1997. She moved to Sioux Falls two years ago to be near her family.

Survivors include two granddaughters, Lynette Kautz and her husband Matthew Meyerhoff, Baltic; Renae Martin and her husband, Craig, Ellendale, North Dakota; great grandchildren, Krista and Matthew Martin; two brothers, Gust Kauk, Eureka, Oscar Kauk, Sioux Falls; a sister, Frieda Trautman, Eureka; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son and daughter in law, Orville and Rosemary Kautz and numerous brothers and sisters.
