Belen Johnson

Belen Johnson, age 50, of Sioux Falls, formerly of Garretson, passed away early Thursday morning, January 27, 2011, at Avera-McKennan in Sioux Falls. Memorial services will begin at 7:30 P.M. on Thursday, February 3, 2011, at the Minnehaha Funeral Home, Garretson with the family present beginning at 7:00 P.M.


Belen was born on September 19, 1960, in Iriga, Philippines to Francisco and Gloria Amparado. She moved to the United States in 1988 and lived in New Mexico. She and her family then moved to Garretson, South Dakota. Belen became a United States Citizen in 1993. She was employed at John Morrell in Sioux Falls for 15 years and had moved to Sioux Falls in 2007. Belen was a kind and loving person who always put others in front of herself. She gave everything she could to family and friends. Belen was also a very strong, confident, hard worker, with her actions touching all those around her.


Grateful for having shared her life are her sons: Benjamin Johnson, Sioux Falls, Alex Johnson, Brookings, and Zen Fauth, Sioux Falls; nine brothers; and many other relatives and friends.
